EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A e-book Regarding the College of Evansville tragic plane crash involving the 1977 basketball group has been nominated for the 2022 Indiana Authors Awards.

Based mostly on a press launch, the 2022 Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana Authors Awards introduced the shortlist of e-books eligible for prime honors in its eight literary packages. 40 e-books written by Indiana authors and revealed in 2020 and 2021 have been shortlisted.

The e-book titled “We’ll Rise: A exact Story of Tragedy and Resurrection Inside the American Heartland” written by Evansville native Steve Beaven was A Sort of e-books.

The awards have been established in 2009 as a imaginative and prescient of Eugene and Marilyn Glick and are a factor of Indiana Humanities’ rich and numerous literary programming.

Beaven’s e-book describes how the Evansville group recovered after a plane carrying the championship-worthwhile UE basketball group and its coach crashed in 1977 simply after takeoff, killing everyone onboard.

Officers say the lineup of judges for the awards included former winners, writers, educators, college students, native e-bookstore house owners and librarians.

Winners are anticipated to be introduced on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.
